1. Services
We provide same-day courier and logistics services across Scotland and the UK.
All deliveries are carried out on a direct, dedicated basis (no co-loading) unless otherwise agreed.

2. Quotations & Bookings
All quotes are based on the information provided at the time of booking.
Prices may be adjusted if job details change, including:

Collection or delivery location
-
Size, weight, or nature of goods
-
Waiting time or delays
-
Additional stops

3. Payment Terms
Payment terms are as follows:
-
First booking: Payment required in full prior to dispatch
-
Bookings 2–5: Payment due within 7 days from invoice date
-
All subsequent bookings: Payment due within 30 days from invoice date
A minimum service charge per booking applies
Additional charges may apply for remote or difficult-to-access locations. These will be reflected in the quoted price based on the information provided. JLM Couriers reserves the right to revise charges if access conditions differ from those initially described. -
The Company reserves the right to:

Withdraw credit terms at any time

Request payment in advance for any booking
-
Refuse or suspend services in the event of overdue invoices
-
Late payments may be subject to interest and recovery costs in accordance with UK commercial law.

4. Waiting Time
-
First 60 minutes free
-
Thereafter: £40 per hour
Applies to loading, unloading, and site delays.
​
5. Liability
Our liability is limited to:
👉 £50,000 per loaded consignment vehicle
Higher value goods must be declared in advance and agreed in writing.
We are not liable for:

Indirect or consequential losses
-
Loss of profit or business interruption
Subcontracting
JLM Couriers reserves the right to subcontract any part of the services to suitably qualified and vetted third-party operators where necessary. In such cases, JLM Couriers remains responsible for the performance of the service and will ensure that all subcontractors meet the required standards of service, insurance, and compliance.
6. Insurance
We operate with:

Hire & Reward vehicle insurance per vehicle
-
Goods in Transit cover up to £50,000 per vehicle with higher coverage possible to arrange
-
Public Liability insurance up to £5,000,000
-
Employer’s Liability insurance up to £10,000,000
Proof of insurance is available upon request.

7. Customer Responsibilities
Customers must:

Provide accurate collection and delivery details
-
Ensure goods are properly packaged
-
Declare any fragile, hazardous, or high-value items
Failure to do so may affect liability.
​
8. Delays
We aim to meet all agreed delivery times.
However, we are not liable for delays caused by:
-
Traffic
-
Weather
-
Mechanical issues
-
Site or port access restrictions
​
9. Cancellation

Cancellations after dispatch may incur full charges
-
Late cancellations may incur minimum charges
​
10. Specialist & Oil & Gas Loads
We support industrial and oil & gas logistics.
Customers must provide:

Handling requirements
-
Relevant documentation

11. General
Use of our services constitutes acceptance of these Terms & Conditions.

These terms are governed by UK law.
